Before you decide
Do I keep the rights to my book?+
Yes. You keep the copyright. Your publishing agreement sets out exactly which editions, formats and territories we publish and for how long — in plain language, before you sign.
How are royalties calculated?+
Per copy, as the selling price minus the channel's fee and the printing cost — the calculator on this page shows the maths. Your dashboard shows every sale, and statements are issued on the schedule in your package.
When do I get paid?+
Royalties are paid by bank transfer after each statement, with TDS deducted as required by law and a certificate provided.
Where will my book be sold?+
On the Oakspine website, Amazon and Flipkart for every package; Premium and Signature add bookshops, coaching institutes, libraries and international online stores.
What is print-on-demand vs a print run?+
Print-on-demand prints copies as orders arrive, so there is no stock to fund. For exam books with steady demand we recommend a short print run for lower cost per copy — we will advise which suits your book.
Can I publish in Hindi or Marathi?+
Yes. We already publish in Hindi and Marathi, and regional-language readers are one of the least crowded markets.
Is the consultation really free?+
